The home we crafted in Mangerton was built on a large parcel of land within several established large trees. The house is approximately 420sqm of internal space (plus balconies) spread over 2 stories which contains 6-bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms, multiple living spaces, a dedicated theatre room with bar, a large fully-tiled 65,000L concrete pool and a 4 car garage. The design intent was to take advantage of the elevation of the land, its natural environment and the views to the escarpment.
The home was constructed with a concrete ground level slab, concrete core-filled blockwork, recycled bricks, suspended concrete slab and lightweight construction with weatherboard to Level 1. Thermal and efficiency was a key consideration in the design and construction of this new home. The house contains a 6.66kW solar system, car charging, Tesla Powerwall, high-performance insulation and double-glazed Rylock Windows throughout. The suspended concrete slab helps provide a large thermal mass within the building envelope to help regulate internal comfort levels. Internal joinery was also a key factor in the houses design and construction, to ensure a seamless and consistent design throughout with functional ergonomics.
